Science for Children The States of Matter
Matter what's the matter ? What may matter be ?
Matter is the stuff that everything is made off. Everything that you can see.
Bugs and birds and chestnut tree Boats and planes and hickory Pots and pans and eating plate Everything you ever ate is all made up of matter. Matter is not just matter. Matter has of States there three, Solid, Gas and liquid that is all the matter, see?
Solid is what you can touch and liquid is the sea gases don't weigh very much for gases you cant see.
A solid is rigid and doesn't flow a gas is so light its the air you blow. A liquid is somewhere in between its not a solid but you can suck it in.
A solid that falls on your foot you surely notice... drat!! a liquid on the other hand will barely make a splat.
A gas makes bubbles in the pop you buy a liquid is what's in the cup before its dry. A solid is the cup that holds the pop a hole is what makes it drop, drop drop.
